100 % of any contribution goes directly to
Schools for Africa!
We have
both been flirting with the idea of working with aid abroad. When we started
planning this trip, we agreed that we had to something for less fortunate
people along the way. We also agree that the best way of helping 3rd
world countries, is by supporting the education of children. Education has a
long term perspective, and helps poor nations help themselves.
After
considering different projects along our route, we finally decided to work with
UNICEF. Hanne Holt and Erik Augdahl
from UNICEF's branch in Norway
have been very helpful and inspiring. We signed an agreement in March 2008.
This agreement ensures that any contribution can be made directly to UNICEF's account. That way we don't have to worry about handling any money directly.
The
agreement also gives us the opportunity to visit several of UNICEF's projects
along our route. We are certain that this will make our journey even more
meaningful than we originally hoped for.
We are proud to be working for UNICEF!
